What is MySQL

Brief History of MySQL

MySQL was created by MySQL AB, a company founded by Michael Widenius (Monty), David Axmark and Allan Larsson in 1995 in Sweden. The first version of MySQL appeared in 1995.

MySQL is named after co-founder Michael Widenius’ daughter, My.
